FAQ
Questions we get before every project.
Straight answers on price, hosting, ownership and process. Anything not covered here is covered by the terms, or by an email to josh@odinofficial.dev.
How much does a website cost?
Every build is quoted after a free 30-minute call, because a five-page site for a contractor and an online store with a few hundred products are different jobs. The proposal gives you a fixed scope, a fixed price, and a delivery date. Best builder, best pricing: bring a written quote for the same scope from anyone else and we beat it. Hosting after launch is $30, $50, or $100 a month depending on the plan.
What do the hosting plans include?
Starter ($30 a month) covers managed hosting, SSL, uptime monitoring, and platform and security updates. Business ($50) adds monthly backups, up to an hour of content changes each month, and priority support. Secure ($100) adds firewall rules, bot and DDoS protection, strict security headers, monthly vulnerability scans, and incident response with 2 hours per incident included.
Can I cancel hosting?
Yes, any time, from the client billing portal or by email. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the month you already paid for. We don't refund partial months, and we help move your site to its new host and hand over your files and accounts.
Do I own my website and code?
Yes. Once a project is paid in full you own the code, the design, and the content we made for it, plus the domain and every account. You get a permanent license to any of our own pre-existing tools that are part of your project.
Can you take over a site someone else built?
Yes. Hosting covers sites we build and sites we agree to take over. If your site lives somewhere else today, we can move it.
Do you build online stores?
Yes. When you sell products, we build the store on Shopify so you can run orders, inventory, and payments yourself.
Will you beat another quote?
Yes. Bring a written quote from another provider for the same scope before our proposal is signed and we beat it. The work is the same standard we delivered inside the defense sector; the lower price comes from lower overhead, not less care. Hosting plans have fixed prices and are not part of this.
Where are you based? Do you work with clients outside Montana?
Odin Official is based in Hot Springs, Montana, serves Temecula, Murrieta, Fallbrook and the rest of Riverside and San Diego counties in California, and works with clients anywhere in the United States. Most projects run fully remote, including an operations platform we built for a construction company in Oklahoma.
How does a project start?
With a free 30-minute call. You describe what you're building and we ask the questions that surface the real scope. Then you get a written proposal. If we aren't the right fit, we say so and point you somewhere better.
How will I know how the build is going?
You get a working demo every week from week one, on a staging link you can open anytime. You talk directly to the engineer building it.
What happens if something breaks after launch?
Report a defect in what we built within 30 days of delivery, or within the period your proposal states, and we fix it at no charge. Sites on a hosting plan are monitored, and we respond to outages.
Will you sign an NDA?
Yes. We keep your business information and credentials private either way, and we'll sign your NDA if you have one.
